Objects for the Turn

The Objects for the Turn trilogy symbolises central concepts for a new cultural era already heralded. Our times are characterised by the rediscovery of local, digital and global networks, as well as a careful and sustainable relationship with nature. The object Cylinders describes the local community, which can benefit from the sharing of know-how and the lending and production of goods. The object Satellite stands for the global and digital exchange of knowledge and ideas and for the interconnectedness of different communities. The object Cone, turned to a point, symbolises Nature’s great vulnerability as well as her destructiveness. The three objects are solely representative of contemporary thought and draw on the book and cultural manifest of Michael Schwarz and Joost Elfers Sustainism is the new Modernism.
